Like me Moms need help bur we also want to help. What can we do and what are some things you do for Moms.

I’ve been thinking about and reading about Martin Luther King lately and feeling very inspired by him and his spirit on the 40th anniversary of his assassination. Dr King took enormous risks for humanity knowing his life was at stake. Surely, he lay in bed at night thinking about his children, how young were they and what they would miss if he was taken from them as well as how Coretta would carry on in the wake of his untimely death. But, he said he went to the top of the mountain and saw the other side, a Utopia, where all people cared about the well being of others. And, as a student of Gandhi who believed this Utopia could be achieved peacefully, Martin Luther King literally took the bullet for the good of mankind.

The more people that venture out of their comfort zone and help people in their communities and around the world, the closer we come to Dr. King’s dream. What a great dream to have and the majority of us do not have to give up our lives for it!

As moms, we’re busy, we’re tired, we’re stressed, but you have to admit, doesn’t it feel great when we make the effort and do some kind of community service with our kids? Hopefully, this Spring we will all remember Dr King and sacrifice some of our talents, our resources and our free time to benefit those less fortunate so we can all get closer to the dream! Every little thing we do to make someone’s life better matters to the whole world.
